- A MAN was arrested in connection with alleged drug offences in Barrhead.
The 47-year-old was reported to the procurator fiscal after Greater Glasgow division police officers said they recovered a quantity of narcotics from an address in Chappell Street.
Police carried out the search warrant – issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 – at around 4.20pm on Saturday, September 24 when they arrested the man for alleged drug supply offences.
- A POLICE officer was injured after a man allegedly refused to leave a Barrhead flat.
Officers were called to an address on Main Street following a disturbance at around 2.45am on Saturday, September 24.
One was said to have sustained an injury to his arm as he grappled with a 48-year-old man who was charged with allegedly assaulting a police officer.
He was also charged with a minor public order offence.
- A MAN has been charged with allegedly driving without insurance or a driving licence in Barrhead.
The 23-year-old driver was stopped by police on Carlibar Road at about 11pm on Monday, September 26.
The man’s car was seized as he was charged with the offences.
- A BANNISTER was torn from a wall in a Barrhead close in an apparent act of vandalism.
Residents at a Main Street property contacted police at around 6.50pm on Monday, September 26 to report the incident.
It is believed a group of seven teenagers were seen hanging around the close a short time before the damage was caused.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact the non-emergency 101 number.
