Three members of a Barrhead sports club will be taking place in a prestigious fight night next month.

Aaron McCann, 15, Cameron Harvey, 17, and Alan Piekarski, 21, will represent Barrhead Community Muay Thai Boxing Club at Ballerup Hall, in East Kilbride, on Saturday, September 16.

The 'Siam Wars 7' event, organised by Ek Fight Gym, will take place on Saturday, September 16, starting at 7pm.

Aaron, from Neilston, will be making his debut appearance at the show.
He told the Barrhead News: "I'm really looking forward to fighting for the first time and have been training really hard in preparation.

"I've only been training for about four months but as soon as I started I've not looked back."

Cameron and Alan, both from Barrhead, had their first fights earlier this year.

The pair hopes to succeed in next month's event after losing their fights on very close decisions.

Cameron said: "I'm looking forward to this, I've been training hard and literally non-stop since my last fight to make sure I'm better prepared than last time.

"This time I know what to expect so I'm really excited to put the training into practice."

Alan added: "I really enjoyed my first fight but we really didn't know what to expect because it was our first fights.

"Now I have a better understanding of what's required and how fit you need be. I've been training a lot harder since then so I'm just really looking forward to it."

Scott Drummond, fight team coach at Barrhead Community Muay Thai Boxing Club, said:" All the lads have been training ridiculously hard so I have no worries about them at all.

"We have left no stone unturned in this preparation so I'm quite keen to see them go in there and do their thing.

"Anybody who wants to come and support the lads can get tickets directly from them, I'm sure they would appreciate the support."
