Arthurlie had their West of Scotland Football League Premier Division fixture with Hurlford United on Saturday abandoned due to a serious injury to a visiting player.
Defender Ross Fisher suffered a double leg break mid-way through the first-half of the clash at Dunterlie Park.
The game, which was 0-0 at the time, was temporarily suspended whilst clubs waited on an ambulance to arrive before the match official made the decision to abandon the game completely.
Arthurlie took to social media on Saturday afternoon to send the defender their thoughts. A post read: “Everyone at Arthurlie FC sends their best wishes to Ross Fisher following today’s unfortunate injury.”
Whilst Hurlford thanked staff at the Barrhead club for their assistance, saying shortly before 3.30pm: “Ambulance is now on its way to the hospital – huge thanks to our physio Sam and Arthurlie FC physio Colette Fleming who looked after the patient until the ambulance arrived.”
‘Lie return to the pitch on Saturday when they travel to second division side Kilsyth Rangers in a Scottish Junior Cup first round tie. Kick-off at Duncansfield Park is at 2.30pm.
