Neilston boss Kevin Muirhead has urged his players to take full advantage of a "wounded" Johnstone Burgh team this weekend.

The Farmer’s Boys travel to Keanie Park on Saturday to take on big-spending Burgh, who suffered a 4-1 defeat against Maybole in their last league outing.

The likes of Kyle Lafferty and Graham Dorrans signed for Jamie McKim's team this summer but Muirhead insists Neilston are capable of getting a positive result.

He told Barrhead Sport: “Jamie will admit himself that the pressure is on them and, with the budget and quality they have, they should be doing a wee bit better at the moment.

“We’re hoping they are a bit of a wounded animal when we play them and we can maybe take something off them and give them another wee kick when they’re down.

“They’ve still got to be respected. Some of the players they have are real quality.”

Neilston had no competitive fixture on Saturday but were still in action as they hosted Eglinton in a friendly at the Brig O’Lea, with goals from Lloyd Wilkie, Sam Ballantyne, Dillon Duddy and Jake Hughes securing a 4-1 victory.

Kick-off at Keanie Park this Saturday is at 2pm.
