Arthurlie suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Clydebank on Saturday.
Liam McGonigle grabbed the only goal of the game at Dunterlie Park as he instinctively flicked the ball into the net from close range on 18 minutes, taking his team to the top of the Premier Division in the process.
Arthurlie goalkeeper Max Clarke was called into action on more than one occasion to keep his side in the game.
The hosts did manage to produce a few dangerous crosses as they went in search of an equaliser but there were no takers and they failed to seriously trouble Bankies shot-stopper Kieran Hughes.
This Saturday, the Barrhead team are on Scottish Junior Cup duty as they travel to Guthrie Park to take on Forfar United in a second round tie, with kick-off at 2.30pm.
United currently occupy 18th place in the East Region Midlands League.
