Neilston have the opportunity to reach a cup final this weekend when they face West Park United in the Strathclyde Demolition Cup.
The Farmer’s Boys were due to face Ashfield on Saturday but the match was postponed due to a frozen pitch with attentions now turning to their semi-final clash.
Third division West Park United stand in their way, though Neilston can expect a difficult afternoon with United already knocking out two teams from higher divisions on their way to the last four – including previous winners Renfrew.
The competition presents non-Scottish Football Association teams who do not compete in the Scottish Junior Cup with the opportunity to compete in the senior Scottish Cup the following season.
The winner of the trophy meets with winners of the equivalent competition
in the East of Scotland and South of Scotland regions in a mini group-stage format, with the victors then advancing to the Scottish Cup.
Kick-off at Huntershill on Saturday is at 1.30pm. Drumchapel United meet Kilsyth Athletic in the other semi-final.
